30 Days of Night: Dark Days Cast Comes Together

October 19, 2009

Mia Kirshner, Rhys Coiro, Harold Perrineau (Lost), Diora Baird (Night of the Demons) and Monique Ganderton are joining the cast of 30 Days of Night: Dark Days, the sequel to 2007's 30 Days of Night.

Kirshner (The L Word) is reportedly set to play the vampire known as Lilith. Coiro (soon to be seen in the Straw Dogs remake) is taking a leading role. It still unknown who is locked for the role of Stella, previously played by Melissa George.

Ben Ketai is directing this sequel and is working from a script by Steve Niles. The story follows a lonely and desperate woman (Stella) who joins a group of rogue vampire hunters to seek revenge on the bloodsuckers responsible for an attack on her tiny Alaska town.

There was a rumor a while back that this would indeed be a straight to video sequel, which makes no sense to me, since the first was fairly successful. The first one was so good and fairly faithful to the comic. I didn't like any of the comic follow ups nearly as much as the first series, but I though Return to Barrow was decent. I still look forward to this, direct to video or not.

Mia Kirshner is enough for me to see this movie. Can't wait.

so there IS still a chance of Melissa? (fingers crossed). the cast for this though is still really good (Kiele Sanchez, who's not listed here but IS listed in BD's rundown, and Harold especially!).

OMG...just another screw up from hollywood on a great comic book. the 1st one should have been something from the syfy channel...the only thing faithful was vampires attacking a town in alaska...worst movie ever

the scariest part of the first movie was when that snow plow thing crashed into the car. the rest was ridiculously bad.
