Casting has begun for Rob Zombie's H2 (Halloween 2) and we've received details on a new character you'll be seeing in the sequel. Zombie's currently looking for an actor to fill the shoes of a man named "Howard Boggs," and the joint he works at is quite familiar...

[HOWARD BOGGS]
- Caucasian - 6'4" - age open. HOWARD is the huge, thick necked bouncer at the 'Rabbit in Red' night club. He's not a pierced-tattooed-rocker type, but more of a hard workin' fist fightin' beer drinkin' bouncer.

The Rabbit in Red, as you will undoubtedly recall, is the club where Deborah Myers (in Zombie's original film) danced at. Pre-production revs up on H2 in January, shooting begins in March. In terms of returning cast members, Tyler Mane is the only one officially on board; he'll reprise his role as Michael Myers.

so this means that Sherri will be in flashbacks at the Rabbit in Red? i figured he'll find a way to squeeze her in. either way i'm looking forward to H2.

"6'4"" Hmmm... Michael was HUGE in the remake, maybe this bouncer is his real father?

Wow. Cool theory Steve. I'm actually looking forward to this now. It's like "Lost" because Zombie knows how to make a buzz.

Like “Lost”? Careful there, the buzz surrounding the show is far better than the buzz that is surrounding what appears to be Michael Myers going to go get a lap dance after getting shot in the shoulder.

I will admit I am curious on how Zombie will try to explain the ending in his remake and also see if perhaps he can re-create the director he was for “The Devil's Rejects”, that guy behind the camera is who Zombie needs to be. That movie had some solid directing, scripting (plot wise) and less annoying acting… and he was a total let down with what he turned in for “Halloween” in terms of Michael's origin and the story.

6'4" "huge, thick necked" "fist fightin' beer drinkin' bouncer."

Could be that they're just making sure they have someone big enough to give Mikey a fight. A little fisticuffs might liven things up between beheadings, and throat slashings...

We'll see...
Although I don't think Rob's Halloween remake was a complete stinker, I did have trouble accepting his overall vision for the characters.
At this point, all I can hope for is for Rob to give me something to latch onto with this new movie that will make me want to stick around for any sequels. I'm an long time, old school Zombie fan, so I cautiously trust him.

i wonder if this means in the sequel he goes looking for his mother, seeing as how things with lil' sis didn't pan out so great in the first film...

craig, his mother shot herself in the head/mouth. so i don't think he'll be looking for her.

There's a bit of misinformation floating around elsewhere and I've revised the above article to correct this. Pre-production on "H2" BEGINS in January, but shooting will not commence until March.

Hm...wasn't the matchbook discovered by Donald Pleasance in the original HALLOWEEN from Red Rabbitt??? Nice homage.

Just stay out of Haddonfield Memorial this time puh-lease.....

I don't think Michael knows though, does he?
I don't know maybe I'm wrong but I don't think Michael knew about that unless the people at Smith's Grove walked in and told him that his mother just killed herself which I don't think would be a good idea since he is a freaking giant with anger manegment issues and that would piss him off and make him more crazier.
???????
