Plot Summary: Television reporter Angela Vidal (Jennifer Carpenter) and her cameraman (Steve Harris) are assigned to spend the night shift with a Los Angeles Fire Station. After a routine 911 call takes them to a small apartment building, they find police officers already on the scene in response to blood curdling screams coming from one of the apartment units. They soon learn that a woman living in the building has been infected by something unknown. After a few of the residents are viciously attacked, they try to escape with the news crew in tow, only to find that the CDC has quarantined the building. Phones, internet, televisions and cell phone access have been cut-off, and officials are not relaying information to those locked inside. When the quarantine is finally lifted, the only evidence of what took place is the news crew's videotape.

I was told I would be scared just by just the preview, you have to be kidding! What a bore.
I was expecting something like The Skeleton Key, or From Dusk Till Dawn and I get stuck watching this?

Why US Studios needs a remake for [REC.] ?
Boycott the remake !!! Claims the orginal !!!
Please ! Don't see this !
Bad remake ! don't loose your time US people !
The original is more scared !!! There's no time for a rest ! One camera is your only witness !!!
It's your eyes !

Some films do benefit from English language remakes. Heavily character based films, where needing to relate is vital and that is easier in your own language. However this film absolutely did NOT need a remake in English. Indeed most horrors do not benefit in any way from remakes in English (or at all really).

I won't be watching.

In the area i live, it is programed that for october, quarantine will be released, and rec on september, so ill be able to enjoy the original film and sticker film back to back, as it all points, it only changes in a more direct re-cap over how the military interfeers in this action, as in the original it only shows the retarded action taken when the results of the viral analization is finished, ive only been able to see the movie on a pirate movie taken fron a direct spanish website, and so far i have admired the sense it irradiates of confusion, histeria, desesperation, gore and impotence. A complete work of art, in so many ways, still intriges of why the old woman was singing, and the children at the end where like laughing, thescreams of the infected, and the child on the top floor, also on the theory of the blood tipe, the rares tipe seems to take longest to have effect, that leaves material for the film to expand on an outbrake because of the father being infected and still onconcious of the fact, cause the mother didnt took long to re-animate after being bitten, if any of you would like to discuss this matter mi email is [email protected], id be glad to hear from anyone.
