10-Page Preview of 28 Days Later Series
Source:Newsarama
August 13, 2009

As previously announced here on Shock, BOOM! Studios is exploring the world of Danny Boyle and Alex Garland's 28 Days Later with an upcoming comic book series. Newsarama has a ten-page preview which you can peruse by clicking on the cover page below. Written by Michael Alan Nelson, the show follows Selena, who you'll remember from the first film. While we await a third theatrical entry, this should tide you over! Issue #1 arrives in stores on August 26.

BOOM! also has a Jennifer's Body graphic novel coming - you can check out our exclusive nine-page preview here.

I hope there's a third also, I wasn't expected Weeks to be as good as it was but I was floored by it. But I hope they stop at 3, somehow the I feel the next step is years and somehow 28 Years Later screams Leprechaun in Space or Jason X to me (goofy, futuristic and fun but not a series jaunt into horror)

Any way, the idea of a story following Selene is a pretty nice idea and gives you the idea that the first movie didn't just END, I hope it can capture the spirit of the 2 movies.

The thing I don't happen to like is the art. The style will work for the book but the artist seems terrible at.. How do I put this without sounding bad.. capturing the features of a dark skinned woman. He makes her look terrible, dare I say monstrous, in most of the pages then like a completely normal human being in the last page. Its not the way to really bring across such a great, strong, character, specially one your going to follow for, hopefully, many issues.

Either way as a comic and horror fan this could be a great read if the script is handled right.
