Reminder! Midnight Shock Event: Halloween II Screening!
Source:Ryan Rotten, Managing Editor
August 14, 2009

"Is this some kind've a joke?! I've been trick 'r treated to death tonight!"

"You don't know what death is!"

With Rob Zombie's Halloween 2 making its way into theaters August 28th, ShockTillYouDrop.com and the New Beverly Cinema (7165 Beverly Blvd. Los Angeles) thought it would be apropos to take a trip down memory lane and revisit the Rick Rosenthal-directed Halloween II (1981), written by John Carpenter and Debra Hill.

Mark your calendars. We're screening the film as part of our Midnight Shock series at the Bev on Saturday, August 15th. Get this... Universal is striking a brand new print for this event! Showtime starts around 11:59pm. Special guests for a pre-screening Q&A; include director Rick Rosenthal, Gloria Gifford and Alan Howarth! Admission is $7. We'll also be doing some giveaways!

If only I lived in LA, or had the money to go. I would do just about anything to see that.

There's only three Halloween films I watch. The original, II, and H20. I saw the original in my horror film class and would love to see the other two on a big screen too.

Halloween II may not be the greatest horror film but it's better than 90% of the horror sequels they put out. It completely redefined Michael's purpose in the series. Plus I love how Loomis blows up Michael and he still manages to walk out of the room.

**** i live in australia i wish we had stuff like this happening every so often.

to be honest i'd make the effort for the first one and not the second though i didn't think much of the second one and i've only seen the first one on tv screens, both normal and lcd but nothing beats the big screen.

Damn! This HAD to be on the ONLY "Scary Movie Night" that my Mom is in town for. It woulda been rad to see this again on the big screen as this was the 2nd "R" rated movie I ever saw, opening weekend as a double feature with "Graduation Day".

In about 2 months....get ready to appreciate this movie even more.

I never had the chance to see any of the movies on the big screen and I might come from Nashville just for this event. Depends on if they do presale tickets so I can guarantee I get a ticket before flying out.

c'mon, this is exactly what paramount did with the new star trek movie. tell a bunch of fans it was showing wrath of khan, the pull a switcharoo and showed the new star trek movie instead. mark my words, buy a ticket to this and you will be treated to Rob Zombies Halloween 2 two weeks early!

this looks lame, rob zombie is trying to turn michael myers into a jason voorhees knock-off

Posted by: Ryan Rotten, Managing Editor on August 15, 2009 at 17:46:27

Iceman - this has nothing to do with Zombie's film.

Posted by: iceman on August 15, 2009 at 19:08:52

Just watched this the other day. Hasn't held up as well imo, it actually kinda bores me now. Though the shot of Michael standing in the old couple's kitchen is amazing.
