Another Pride and Prejudice and Zombies Rises

Source: Quirk Books
January 1, 2010

Success gives way to sequelitis. Quirk Books, the publisher behind Jane Austen and Seth Grahame-Smith's "Pride and Prejudice and Zombies," is prepping the release of the prequel "Pride and Prejudice and Zombies: Dawn of the Dreadfuls."

Steve Hockensmith ("Holmes on the Range") takes over co-author duties, bringing zombies back to Austen's 19th century England. In this installment, we watch Elizabeth Bennet evolve from a naive young teenager into "a savage slayer of the undead."

The concept of "Pride and Prejudice and Zombies" - which hilariously expands Austen's source material - has become a hit on the book scene, spawning imitators and inspiring Hollywood to do an upcoming feature film starring Natalie Portman as Bennet.

"Pride and Prejudice and Zombies: Dawn of the Dreadfuls" arrives in March.

PP&Z was the worst book I read last year.

It is bad enough that Hollywood is using remakes for 25% of their movies, but now writers are doing it too. I think it is lame, think of your own ideas.

hey mike if its a good story then ****ing let them do it. You dont have to read it so instead of waisting yours and our time just pretend it doesnt exist. Some people like to learn more about a universe through a prequel let them enjoy it. This effects you in no way. I dont understand why people get so upset about **** like this. I hated the league of Extraordinary Gents Film but i still had the books so what does it matter if they make something ****ty or not. Either way you dont have to read or see it.
