Piranha 3D Swimming into 2010
Source:Dimension Films
January 27, 2009

Piranha 3D was never going open in 2009. Maybe once, when Alex Aja was originally going to begin shooting in the fall of last year. But now that principal photography has been pushed to this spring, you'll have to wait and see the furious hungry fish in 2010.

Dimension Films announced the remake of Joe Dante's campy horror film will hit theaters on March 19, 2010.

Why? Preparation. Aja told us recently that he has to do what's best for the movie. Shooting in cold temperatures is not one of them. Plus, he has to ready the production for 3-D, a feat made even more challenging by the film's required underwater photography.

Casting and more news is forthcoming, so hold on tight!

I haven't seen the original since I was little, so I need to revisit that.

I remember some months back when they first announced this movie. In the description or interview (I can't remember which) someone said there would be 3-D breasts.

That right there sold me on the movie. I'll be there for sure, lol.

If Aja was REALLY trying to do what's "best for the film," he would NIX the 3D aspect.

3D SUCKS!

I don't need piranha flying at my face to get it. Just keep this **** 2D and we'll be fine.

Aja rocks. Great filmmaker and he will make a cracker of a film. His ability to crank tension to breaking point is evident in the HHE remake and his demented homeland masterpiece, Haute Tension. Man the french are mad geniuses. Aja, Noe etc etc. They know how to create absolute fear and dread.
