EXCL: The Last House on the Left Poster!
Source:Rogue Pictures
February 10, 2009

When Wes Craven's debut film The Last House on the Left arrived in 1972, ads carried the caveat, "To avoid fainting, keep repeating, it's only a movie, only a movie..." His gritty tale of revenge is now being updated this year with Dennis Iliadis at the helm and Rogue Pictures is taking a decidedly different approach to the tagline in their poster art which we're offering you a first look at.

Craven is on board as producer, as is Sean Cunningham and Marianne Maddalena. And in this remake you'll find Garret Dillahunt playing Krug, leader of a quartet of miscreants who target two young girls (Sara Paxton and Martha MacIsaac) and leave them for dead. The murderers bed down for the night in the home of one of their victims; unbeknown to them, the parents are plotting revenge.

You'll find a trailer and stills within our database here. The Last House on the Left opens in theaters on March 13th. Keep an eye on TheLastHouseontheLeft.com for more!

That's a good poster, nice and simple.

Sweet.

The tagline at the bottom is a bit wordy, but I like the raw feel on the layout. Plus, the giant title font really catches your eye - feels vintage.

like it!

not that that's going to happen.

and to comment on the actual poster, that tagline sucks. 'bad people'... what the-

So, they are remaking a movie that is known as one of the most horrific of all time, and they aimed their tag line at 5 year olds?

The Last House on the Left????

looks to me as "The Only House on the Hill"

Posted by: General Gokemidoro on February 10, 2009 at 09:10:30

The tagline is really bad but the poster is ok. Hopefully this remake is better than the last one called "Chaos".

I agree, that tag line sucks.

Guys keep repeating to yourself, "It's only a poster... it's only a poster... it's only a poster..."

CREEPY

I love it, despite the flawed tagline on the bottom.

Posted by: Vault Master on February 10, 2009 at 12:33:43

This is one horror remake that won't be getting my nine bucks. (That is, unless the girlfriend wants to see it...) The poster shows some promise, but cripes, is it me or does this flick have THE longest tagline in the history of film? Well, maybe not, since the original tagline for Friday the 13th (1980) was "They were warned... They are doomed... And on Friday the 13th, nothing will save them."

I'll give this one a rental when it hits DVD this Summmer.

The tagline at the bottom looks like it was thought up by a three year old.

Posted by: Mikey on February 10, 2009 at 15:24:15

I don't seem to care about this. At all.

Posted by: joe asylo on February 10, 2009 at 15:30:59

man that is very similar to amitville one.

Posted by: MagnaderAlpha on February 10, 2009 at 17:27:32

It IS too wordy! They should've just stick with "How far would YOU go?"

Posted by: fleanix05 on February 10, 2009 at 20:10:14

that's not a tagline, that's a plot summary
:P

Posted by: Baytor on February 10, 2009 at 20:47:50

Oh come on after My Bloody Valentie's "Who will live and what will be left of them?" what do you expect from taglines.

All taglines suck.

(Except for the tagline for my proposed sequel to Snake on a Plane called Sharks on a Rollercoaster which will be "You must be this tall... TO DIE!")

Posted by: OctopusPie on February 11, 2009 at 00:17:15

Man, I can't believe that these people are paid thousands of dollars to think up taglines & all they came up with was that wordy piece of dookie.

Posted by: Shane on February 11, 2009 at 01:13:41

Um baytor, that tagline was from the original Texas chainsaw massacre not my bloody valentine

Posted by: ryan on February 18, 2009 at 00:47:42

i actually saw the trailor for this movie before The Unborn, and i gotta say, its a sick twisted movie, and although its very predictable even from the poster, its gonna be a hell of a trip to watch...already better then that piece of **** "quarantine"

Posted by: celine on February 18, 2009 at 05:30:33

i like bayor's tagline, made me laugh. its a simple and effective poster, but i agree that the tagline is too wordy.
