Cole, Speedman Fly to Moth Diaries

Lily Cole (The Imaginarium Of Dr Parnassus) and Scott Speedman (The Strangers) are the first two actors to join the cast of Mary Harron's The Moth Diaries.
Harron, whose credits include American Psycho, was attached to the project in March. She's adapting from Rachel Klein's novel which is set in a girls' boarding school where a 16-year-old named Lucy suspects her roommate is a vampire. But, through this tale, there is a growing question of what is reality and what is merely stemming from Lucy's warped fantasies?
Shooting begins this summer in Montreal.
"This is a chillingly atmospheric horror story with real emotional depth," Harron tells Screen Daily. "I've tried to stay true to Rachel Klein’s novel in the way it re-works and updates the Gothic tradition and the whole notion of girl-on-girl Vampires. Lily Cole is a very talented actress and...I've long been a fan of Scott Speedman."
