Source:HorrorBid.com
September 28, 2008

HorrorBid.com has gotten their hands on some cool behind the scenes pictures from the set of Platinum Dunes' remake of Friday the 13th, directed by Marcus (Texas Chainsaw Massacre) Nispel, that show what Derek Mears' Jason Voorhees looks like without his mask!

You can check out smaller preview versions of the seven pictures below and then check out the larger full-scale pictures over at HorrorBid.com.

Friday the 13th is scheduled to open on Friday, February 13, 2009. Look for ShockTillYouDrop.com's set visit report sometime soon.

they just ruined the whole movie! oh no!

ive never seen a movie about a hulking deformed retarded guy stalking and muredering a bunch of good looking 20 somethings before!

im sick of these stupid ****ing remakes

anybody expecting much from this movie? im not

i was really anticipating rob zombies halloween before it came out, and i learned my lesson then

Posted by: Shane on September 28, 2008 at 16:49:13

dr. doc...you might hate remakes, and i do admit there are a lot of them. but as long as they are done something well and can bring a new and interesting take on the film while not ruining what the original accomplished (texas chainsaw, hills have eyes, halloween) then i am all for it. i trust the makers of this film and i'm excited to actually get scared by jason.

and about the youve never seen that before...if you knew horror films you would know they all take what works in the ones before it

its quite amusing how they try to pay homage to the origional films with these glossy remakes when the origionals were only ever b rate cheeseball movies designed to be outlandishly gory and disposable.
man have the imaginations of the writers been ruined with too many disney movies?
come out with something new go on i dare ya.

wow i think like it

Posted by: RJ on September 28, 2008 at 18:30:18

Maybe I'm losing my sight, but is it half Mears, half Jason mask, or is it half deformed/grown-up Jason, and half baby-faced Jason? Overall, I'm looking forward to it. With this and Zombie's Halloween, at least it wasn't a craptacular sequel, just a "re-imagining" of the original. I enjoyed Zombie's Halloween somewhat, so I'm sure I can get some form of entertainment from this. OK, let's face it, I'm only going to finally see Jason run!... Oh, and boobies!

i like the new look overall. with these pix i don't think it's EXACTLY what his face will look like in the final product. the little flap of skin on his right eye is so when he wears the mask it's not lined up to equal alligned eyes. it's clearly a little flap of prothetics that's not even blended in to his face. so i'm REALLY looking forward to seeing what the final face of Jason will be! but i LOVE it so far!

nothing new he looks like he did back in part 3 or 4 the only thing that is different is that he has a strand of blonde hair

I actually think remakes aren't so bad. Can too many people say they knew of "The Thing" any earlier than the '82 remake? Some people just can't get behind the older movies after a period of time. Remakes are a good way to put a new spin on a sure thing.. Because many of you have had the luxury of knowing Friday the 13th, Texas Chain Saw and so on, doesnt mean younger kids will have been able to get behind the originals. Of course.. unless the remakes are poorly made.. IE: the newest Night of the Living Dead (3D).. Horrible. :)

Am I the only one wonder why Jason is even in a Friday the 13th remake? It's supposed to be his mom. Jason only appeared at the end. Then was the main Villian in 2.

Posted by: jrrrz on September 28, 2008 at 21:25:48

Shawn in absoloutely correct. unless the makers of this remake are going with the story about the first three fridays being represented here. you still gotta deal with his mom from part one.

Posted by: djblack1313 on September 28, 2008 at 21:47:33

they are going to deal w/ his mom. she is being played by Nana Visitor (or Star Trek:Deep Space Nine). she has said in interviews that they made a mold cast of her head for the decapitation scene. so the first 15 or 20 mins of the movie are going to be mostly about Mrs. V and we'll see her decap'd! THEN they are going to combine key plot points from 1-3. actually it's more of 1-4 (Clay/Jared Padalecki is the "Rob" character from part 4, who's looking for his sister "Sandra" who was a character from part 2). so Jason will have the sack from part 2, then come across the mask.

Posted by: Chris on September 28, 2008 at 22:18:26

First of all let stop calling it a remake for the fact that Jason is in the first movie and he is wearing a hockey mask. That's the first three movie put together into one right there. SO ... it's a RESTART and not a REMAKE. So before jumping on the whine wagon about another old movie being remade over ... watch the movie first then whine about it ... or go to film school and make your own movies.

Nispel is a genius and he has an amazing eye for visuals. If anyone saw the Texas Chainsaw Massacre remake, then you're fully aware of what he is capable of. I am VERY excited about this! I love the character, I love the series up to now, and I think that the sequels have hit a brick wall and for Jason Voorhees to live on, he MUST be reimagined in todays world with a director who is able bring new life to Friday the 13th. I don't understand why people continue to complain about remakes/reimaginings...we should all be thankful that movies we love from years past are still good enough to inspire a second look, because continuing the series' with more and more played out sequels is boring and should be left in the 80's.

Posted by: Aeghast on September 29, 2008 at 00:10:27

Yeah--I mean, why do they show these..?

Posted by: shawn on September 29, 2008 at 00:14:24

I really wasn't try to complain so much as figure out why they were calling this a remake. I have no problems with re-telling of stories. Jason just shouldn't be in a remake of the first one.

****ING AMAZING!!!

OH MY GOD I CAN'T WAIT!!!

Posted by: hellmaster on September 29, 2008 at 11:21:03

Ok, but where the heck are all the other actors photos?
They always only show photos of Jason, but what about the other people in the movie?
This way it looks just like any other Jason movie, they need to promote more and better with photos and interviews of the other actors.

Are you serious? Theyre doing a remake but from the looks of it theyre doing a remake of part 2. I would go back to the orginal where Jasons mother is the killer at Crystal Lake. That orginal is still the scariest Friday the 13th movie ever. I hope that they include his mother in the story line. If not i can see this movie going way south. So far the Halloween remake from Rob Zombie is the best. I doubt they will ever top that remake. I guess time will tell. p.s. nonone cares what Jason looks like without his mask on. They story and suspense of murders is what took us all for a ride over 25 years ago.

Can't wait for this. Anyone who likes slasher films know's they are cheesy, far-fetched, predictable and been there done that. But I love em for what they are, "Entertainment"

If it weren't for slasher films, we wouldn't have the "Saw's" or "Hills have eyes" etc...

I'm hoping this movie scares me a little. Never had a Voorhee's movie scare me yet... and maybe this one will bring a little bit of that...if not, it's a Jason F'n Voorhee's movie. Nuff said. G.O.A.T.

Posted by: djblack1313 on September 29, 2008 at 15:22:40

i don't know how many times it can be said....MRS. VORHEES IS IN THIS MOVIE!!
she is being played by NANA VISITOR! SHE WILL BE DECAPITATED IN THE MOVIE!
do we understand now that Mrs. V is in this movie!?!

I'm all for the remakes.I say keep them coming. If for no other reason,to piss off all these complainers that can't seem to get with the times and accept the fact that they are living in 2008.These remakes are for the newer generations. They are going to be made weither you like it or not.BTW,Rob Zombies Halloween was awesome.

Posted by: Sephit on September 29, 2008 at 21:28:51

Im very excited to see Jason up on the screen again...i like the old Fridays but they were never very scary...they were usually funny or gory at best, I think The Chainsaw Massacre Remake has been the best so far...RZ'z Halloween was alright...it had its moments but i was kinda let down so i hope this remake will be a lot better
