every single predator movie after the first one wasn't worth a **** they need to quit trying

To be fair the first film was class was because Arnie made it. But anyhow all an action sci-fi film wants is to take your brain out and watch and enjoy and thats what AVP-R did, some plot, more hunting what more was needed. Not all films are looking for an Oscar!

Posted by: metatron on February 6, 2010 at 17:31:50

i liked all the predator films even number 2 which some people disliked just because arni was nt in it tut tut..but it was a very worthy sequel..left me wanting more

as for the avp`s the first one was brill i was very excited knowing they was making a flim with 2 of my fave aliens going head to head..
and i wasn t disapointed..

but avp 2 was good too but there just was something missing!!!!..i dont know maybe i was expecting too much????..too much darkness perhaps?????..and they slimmed down the predator if anyone noticed...you would think they would send down their beefier worrior to sort out all them loose aliens AND!!! a predalien...mmmm..dont you think..

but they both didnt go down too well at the box office and with some fans..

so seems like this new sequel..[not a reeboot].. which apparantly takes off from the arni encounter should be what us fans have been waiting for..either way im still excited anyway...

so bring it on..

only wish theyd give us a taster with a spoiler trailer or something..the suspense is killin me..ha!!

Yeah, my only beef with AVP-R was the lighting, way too dark, I couldn't make out what was going on half the time. If it hadn't been for that it would be a very enjoyable popcorn flick.

yeh i guess you are right a bit lighter would of helped but i suppose keeping the film dark helped keep the fx budget down..

a similar thing to what they did with the big budget godzilla film in the 90`s if you noticed it was raining alot and most of the fx were in the dark..

then i later found out it was to hide the weaker fx keeping the budget at a stable rate..

but i still truly enjoyed it..

so does anyone know about any teaser trailer rumours or bootlegs..

and to change the subject matter slightly has anyone got anymore gossip on the jeepers creepers 3 film...

bloodydiscusting mentioned last year a possible release for this year sometime..then rumours went dead

jp 1 and 2 were amongst my fave horror films and i wanted more..

so im pretty excited that the franscise is possibly going to take off again..

last i heard they were doing 3 and 4 back to back

I've been waiting for another Predator sequel since I was a kid and the AVP movies don't count. Predator 2 gets a lot of crap but I really enjoyed it. Danny Glover played the part well and I've always been a fan of Bill Paxton, the only actor to go up against Predator and Alien from the original movies. Part 2 wasn't nearly as good as the first one but still a fun ride. Predators sounds like it could be a worthy contender and possibly something the fans have been waiting for for a long time. As a fan I know It's what I've been waiting for. I'm also a huge fan of Robert Rodriquez, well at least his adult movies including Sin City, From Dusk Till Dawn, and of course Desperado. What I don't understand is why isn't he directing Predators. This seems like the perfect project for him to take on next. It's great that he's a co-writer and producer but I would have loved to see him direct it. Much more than another Spy Kids movie that's for sure and I hear that's one of his next movies. Oh well, I still can't wait for this one.

I loved the original and the second was also great if you just watch to watch, yes a lot of holes but still a good watch, but as or the new one, you couldnt just send 8 humans to a world of constant training and expect people to beleive that they even have a fighting chance, it wouldn't fly with true fans. as for avp 1 it was original thats for sure, but they wouldnt allow a human to help them exterminate the aliens... it would be against their religion so to speak, and the second one i agrre with the other guy they wouldnt send ONE predator to eliminate the predalien... even if he was the best. If they chose earth then it would make sense that they would hav other worlds that can support other life and it would be the only planet that they would have aliens populating on. so why wouldnt they make it a futuristic movie where the humans can at least have space travel similar to the DOOM movie,so that they have at least advanced weapons to be competitive with the predators.. or a rogue human in that sense who hunts all species..it just doesnt seem credible that they would even survive to teleport or land a ship on their planet..any thoughts???

I don't know.. I'm smellin' a bit of Alien in here.
A bunch of humans suddenly ending up a planet with the Predators?
Wasn't that what happened to the Nostromo?

Just sayin....

nothing will beat the 1987 version of predator with arnold swartsenegger best movie of all time this one looks good though

I would have serious doubts regarding any website that claims that Robert Rodriguez would film an ending with Schwarzeneggar making an appearance. For one the film takes place way beyond current day because they are dropped off on a planet and the first film takes place in a period of time that you can't push much further forward than the early 90's.

Mondana, pointing out that this has a similar plot to alien is pointing out that there are a dozen horror films where a small group of people are stuck on a planet with aliens of one sort or another. There are a large number of them, hell "The Thing" nearly has that same plot. Put the ixnay on all the details surrounding how and why the Nostromo ended up on LB-426 makes the plot sound similar, other than that the pedestrian observation really is a disservice to Alien and to this movie which hasn't even been released yet.
