The 1987 Hong Kong chiller A Chinese Ghost Story is being remade.

Shooting has begun with Wilson Yip in the director's chair. This time, the thrust of the story will surround Swordsman Yen, as opposed to the original's tax collector character who encounters a ghost named Nie Xiaoqian.

Crienglish, reporting from a Ghost Story press conference, says Yip stressed "his movie would incorporate contemporary elements that he believes are more suitable for modern-day society."

Check out a teaser trailer here.

Yip directed the upcoming IP Man and Bio-Zombie.
