"Drag me to Hell" will punch you in the face, make your ears bleed, have you laughing at something your mother told you never to laugh at, scare you when you thought it was over and then come back around to punch you in the tenders before the credits roll, it was everything you wanted to see from a Sam Raimi horror film and then some.

I caught the free screening on Tuesday in NY and WOW! This movie is amazing. It's definitely one of the best horror films that I've seen EVER. It's a perfect mix of humor and fright and experiencing it in that loud ass theater only intensified the experience itself. I'm definitely going 2 pay 2 catch it again next time.

i'm a little disappointed... some of the campiness was just absolutely unnecessary and really took away from the coolness of the story. great ending though, wow.

Pure Raimi!!! This movie is creepy, scary, corny, funny, and in a great little package. This movie has genuine scares, and is not the typical hollywood horror movie. Had the Raimi touch and visuals, lots of gross moments too. One of the best horror films I've seen in a while. Thank you Sam, more of these!

Quick gypsy story. I was in a long island mall about a year ago when this cute young gypsy chick rushes me and my kid. Her and her family had a kiosk there where they apparently whore out their daughter to sell these smelly pillows. So, the gypsy slut starts putting these smelly pillows around my neck, and she's all like, "they have herbs in them that make you relax". Now first of all I didn't smell any pot, so I can't even imagine what other ****in herbs relax you, and secondly, the only other thing that would have "relaxed me" would have been a handjob by Gypsy slut, but that was't happining. To make matters worse, gypsy slut starts putting that smelly pillow **** on my kid. Now I was trying to be polite but she was really starting to piss me off! My poor kid did't know what to do, but I could tell he wanted to bolt too. Keep in mind that I never said I would buy anything, Gypsy slut just wanted me to "try it out". After gypsy slut asked me what i thought of it, I told her that it felt o.k. Out of nowhere, ***** just starts ringing me up. I'm all like whoo, hold on, I don't want your smally pillow ****. She get's furious, gives me this look like I just raped her and starts speeking in the gypsy speak. I grab my kid and run for my life. Needless to say, like Borat, I do not trust "the Gypsy". Anyway, as far as DMTH goes, I loved 99% of this movie (I figured out the twist right away, and I would have prefered a happy ending). Still, I jumped more during this flick then I can remember. I can tell you that after seeing it, I am glad I ran out of that mall before Gypsy slut put the whammy on me. Take the move as a cautionary tale people.

The most intense PG13 I have ever seen. Not soft at all. GREAT horror is back. Thanks Sam!

Loved it!!

Don't let the PG13 rating discourage you from seeing it. This is a brilliant horror movie. Sam Raimi rules!!

Saw a screening of this months ago. By far the best horror movie I have seen in years! I agree that it is a bit campy, yet I have no problem with that. It's funny, scary, and silly all in one and it is still an amazing movie. I give it a 9/10 only because the twist at the end is a bit predictable. But the seance scene was absolutely classic!

I think that sam raimi is back in a very big way and he has done a very good movie in drag me to hell.

If it wasn't for spider man he wouldn't be nothing in the movie world. Sam Raimi sucks

Posted by: wheresmything29 on May 29, 2009 at 21:22:05

agent red 12 you are an idiot. have you ever seen the evil dead movies? probably not. i bet you are the kind of person that craps in their pants without a night light. twilightlover, joanie, and totaly bummed get the f**k off this site. this is a horror movie site not a gay vampire site(example: vampires burn in the sun not glitter like little f**king fairies) enough of this **** with twilight, the book sucked, i am sure the movie sucked and to quote the master of horror(to you morons that would be STEPHEN KING) stephenie myer IS A HACK.

Posted by: Agent Red 12 on May 29, 2009 at 22:24:05

wheresmything29 i have seen the evil dead movies. You probably wasn't even around when the movies came out. so shut the **** up and go cry back to mommy because some people making fun of your stupid movie.

Posted by: Aargh! on May 29, 2009 at 22:39:15

WHY THE **** ARE PEOPLE TALKING ABOUT TWILIGHT?!

**** YOU *****ES AND **** TWILIGHT - everyone knows that **** is awful. This is a MOTHER****ING HORROR SITE! Take your Twilight and **** OFF.

Drag Me to Hell was pure awesomeness, the opposite of your ****e Twilight.

Posted by: Bella on May 29, 2009 at 22:56:01

ROBERT PATTINSON 4-EVER. This movie won't be ANYTHING compared to New Moon. I would see Twilight in an I-MAX run too, they should do that and break records.

Posted by: VAMP on May 29, 2009 at 23:12:15

Twilight vs. Drag Me To Hell? TWILIGHT WINS BY A MARGIN. Stephen King is a HACK!!! He writes a column for a cheap magazine on a weekly basis... and that magazine KNOWS Twilight is going to win an Oscar or two. Double that Joanie!

Phenomenal. I hate to quote Peter Travers, but he nailed it with "horror movie heaven." 99 minutes of balletic, bone-crunching violence (the instantly classic parking garage catfight rivals Kill Bill Vol 2's trailer bout) and gut-busting laughs ("Did any get in my mouth?"). This was easily one of the best times I've ever had in a theater. It's very much an "audience movie," but also one I'll be watching every year at home around Halloween (and it'll make a killer double feature with Trick R Treat).

Now if only horror fans would rally behind it a little harder. Nikki Finke has an early $7 mil estimate for Friday. Not a disaster, but pretty damn mild. Depressing when you consider that unless it proves to be the ultra-rare horror movie with a Saturday increase, the lesson learned by the studios is going to be, "It wasn't a remake, and original horror doesn't sell tickets. Mixing horror and comedy doesn't sell tickets, either."

If there are still people out there soft on seeing this because of the PG-13, get over it already. Give Raimi a chance to prove you dead wrong. This movie is a gift from a genre god, and screams to be seen and heard on the big screen.

THIS MOVIE ROCKED! THE MOST FUN I HAVE HAD AT A MOVIE IN A LONG WHILE. MAYBE RAIMI SHOULD DO THESE TYPES OF MOVIES FULL TIME BECAUSE THIS WAS FRICKIN AWESOME.
ONLY THING THAT STUNK IS ALONG WITH A PG-13 RATING, THERE ARE ALWAYS A BUNCH OF DUMB LITTLE KIDS IN THE THEATER THAT WONT BE QUIET. SSSSHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

WHEN THE GYPSY IS GUMMING THE CHICKS FACE....FRICKIN HILARIOUS!

LOVED THIS MOVIE!

Posted by: Movie_Jamie on May 30, 2009 at 00:30:15

**** yeah, Colin. I haven't seen it but will make sure to catch it within the next several days. Really great to hear the great reviews…this and Trick or Treat could be the best Halloween double-feature in forever.

Who are these effing Twilight lovers? You people are weird as well as who are largely responsible for all the crappy horror films being made. Thanks to you guys, there are more fairies than vampires these days...
Please go where your Twilight comments are welcome you ****ing losers.

I loved it. Intense, classic Raimi. Even had brother Ted along for the ride. Very impressive flick. What is with the Junior High Twilight contingent?

Posted by: petrefax on May 30, 2009 at 06:36:36

Oh Twilightlover I can tell you are a fount of objectivity from your screename.

I find it rather amusing you claim that Drag Me to Hell is gay when New Moon is using this as one of it's promotional marketing.

http://www.eonline.com/uberblog/marc_malkin/b120057_meet_new_moon_werewolves.html

Yep you clearly know what gay is. Nothing screams not gay like a bunch of guys in the woods with no shirts on. Unless you meant that DMtH was fun like the classic definition then yes I wholeheartedly agree.

Agent red perhaps you should take some of your own advice and not get on your high horse about a movie you like. Everyones opinions are different.

I do agree that horror and the Twilight saga do not belong in the same sentence. As one of my friends who is a Twilight fan assails me with on an almost daily basis"It's a freaking love story!" Which i agreed with her and shouldn't be classified as horror.

If you didn't like the Evil Dead films then that's fine. Then respect our freedom of speech if we didn't like Twilight.

New Moon will most assuredly make more money at the box office than Drag Me to Hell because partly of the rabid fanbase and the fact Universal was stupid and had it going up against a Disney/Pixar flick in the same week. They should have waited till the fall to release Drag Me to Hell.

A silly film, poor acting, an thoroughly a waste of time. Would have walked out, but there were people sat next to me.
