2nd spot was better. can't wait for August 28, am going to watch the final destination and halloween 2 on the same day. but the problem for me is which movie first, ahhhhhhh, i feel like a little kid in a candy store

After the red band trailer I don't even feel their is a need to go see this except for the gimmick of 3d.

I didn't watch the spots cause i see no point. It will be just like the other three. Besides I am already sick of the 3-D trend.

HAlloween will crush this at the box office.

Final Destination will destroy Halloween 2 and I'm not a fan of either franchise. The remake of Halloween was poorly received by both critics and audiences. Lost a lot of fans by turning myers and his universe into a hillbilly fantasy. If you say final destination looks like the last two then you must admit halloween 2 looks like rob zombies last 3 films.

Regardless the general audience will go see final destination because it is this generations horror franchise and it is in 3D.

Meh, not another teen movie. Kills will be good though for sure.

Final Destination 4 will not destroy Halloween 2, because its in 3D. Some people don’t like the 3D affect in horror movies. My Bloody Valentine was in 3D, and it didn’t even make #3 at the box office when it came out. My local movie theatre didn’t even have it in 3D, which made people upset and didn’t see at all. Any true fan of Halloween will most likely go see H2 because they will admit they just cant get enough of Michael being Michael. And since when did anyone care what critics have to say, FD2-FD3 and Halloween 07 got the same letter grade from the critics because they want a movie to be close to perfect as possible. Regardless Halloween has a bigger fan base than Final Destination anyway.
U.S. Box Office
Halloween (Remake) $58,267,261
Final Destination $53,302,314
FD2 $46,455,802
FD3 $54,098,051

Oh yes, I did my homework ;)

Any true fan has already given up on the series and will not go see halloween 2. Halloween remake was terrible, it was just a bunch of graphic gore/death scenes and a butthole strapped together. No real plot there, just what ever zombie thought would like to see. Women getting raped leads to michael escaping, yeah real intelligence there.

Zombie exploited the fans so they wont be there, just the small percentage of hillbillies or preteens who don't care about plot or characters or coherence.

So 3d gimmick will send FD to the top and the total disregard for the fans will send Halloween down. Majority of people didn't like halloween remake it got around a 20% on RT. People generally don't go to see sequels to bad movies, for fcks sake up until december this film was going straight to dvd. And your silly numbers prove my point. We all know remakes make around 60 million opening weekend. FD3 was not a remake and it made 54. Halloween remake was terrible and now it doesn't have the remake gimmick. FD3 was better received among its fans and the general audience and now it has a gimmick.

No one is passing up the opportunity to see crazy death scenes in 3D. Well except me of coarse.

ttop33-Last time I checked, Final Destination had no real plot, and just graphic gore and death scenes. It also was said that any Halloween made, would go to theaters, so I don’t know where you're getting straight to dvd from. What the hell do you know about real intelligence? Like using the description hillbillies and preteens to describe the fans of Halloween and/or Rob Zombie is any sense of intelligence.

ttop, i am NOT a "hillbillies or preteens who don't care about plot or characters or coherence". so (not trying to be argumentative here) there will be PLENTY of "regular" folks like myself (and yes, i think i'm "normal" my mommy says i am! LOL) who honestly think H2 looks really good. i could be totally wrong. and after i see it, if it sucks ass i'll totally admit that.

I DO NOT CARE IF IT IS IN 3D THE ONLY THING I CARE ABOUT IS I CAN INTERACT WITH FD3 ON DVD WILL I BE ABLE TO INTERACT WITH FD4 ON DVD OR NOT?

C'mon H2 fans, we know ttop posts the same thing every time, and he does it simply to stir us up. Let it go. When you ignore those starved for attention, they go away. Opening weekend will prove which film drew more money.

Of course, even then, box office draw does not in any way reflect artistic quality. I submit Transformers 2 as proof of this.

Let him blow his smoke. Come August 28th you can all offer him a side of fries with the smack talk he's gonna eat.

Has there ever been a horror movie battle, as big as this one? H2 Vs. FD4 Its going to be interesting, I’m riding with H2 to take the spot, but still its gonna be funny since its put a divide between horror fans. August 28 Horror Movie Battle of the year, lol Its going to be a messy fight that’s for sure :)

For those of you debating on who will kick who's a ss at the box office... H2 has the advantage, because it is a more well known series and because Final Destination is the same s hit over and over and over...
Oh and these spots make me not want to see the film in any deminsion.

My Bloody Valentine 3D actually did open at the number 3 spot its opening weekend behind Paul Blart and Gran Torino.

Not excited at ALL to see Zombie's latest hick-flick. You've to be crazy to want to see homeless Michael Myers over a rollercoaster like the FD movies are.

Can't wait to take the ride in 3D, not to be depressed with a lame ass mama's boy bull**** H2 crap.

WOW....I just read this on a hot forum on tall dating site ___Tallmingle . c o m___ which is a hot dating site for all tall friends and tall singles.

Which FD movie was a roller coaster, exactly? Aside from the one that, predictably, crashed and killed a bunch of people in FD3?

I'm perpetually amused at the notion of "homeless Michael Myers" since, in every film including Carpenter's original he was, technically speaking, homeless. It's not like the guy ever had a penthouse apartment to come back to so he could change his mask (hence its appearance as squeaky white and clean in every film, after alleged years of use).

I'd love to know where exactly he should stay after killing all those people. I doubt the Haddonfield Holiday Inn would be too interested in putting him up for the night.

Sorry, but for my money, if you really want to compare, it's far crazier to see the exact same movie for the fourth time (oh but it's in 3D!!!!) than to see what road Zombie takes Michael down this time.

But to each his own. I'm sure I'll see both.

It's definitely fun (and funny) to see how polarized people are getting. It lacks the heart of the old Freddy / Jason / Who is better battles of my youth, though. Maybe that's the next big crossover series: Michael versus Death. In 3D!
