Rodriguez Explains How Predators Will Invade Texas
Source:LA Times
July 8, 2009

The last few months have been a-buzzin' with announcements regarding Predators, the latest entry in the 20th Century Fox franchise that's being overseen by Robert Rodriguez (Planet Terror) and directed by Nimrod Antal (Vacancy).

On a collision course for the summer of 2010, Rodriguez explains how Texas is playing a tremendous part in the production. No, not the plot. This entry is set on the Predator home world. As reported earlier, Predators will lens at Rodriguez's Troublemaker Studios and the surrounding area.

"It'll be a mix," he tells the Times. "A lot of location sets and some green scene. There's a lot of different places in Texas I have in mind, and we have a great rebate thing there now, only 60% has to be shot in Texas. We're scouting for locations now. You can find some alien landscapes in Texas for sure. And with the right augmentation, you can make anywhere look like anywhere now."

There isn't too much new in the Times piece that wasn't already discussed at AICN, but give the article a look here. Rodriguez is appearing at Comic-Con this month, no doubt we'll be hearing much more about his plans for the Predator soon.

Hope they keep the overall look of the Predator world from AVP-R. That was about the only decent thing in that flick.

I thought that he was supposed to go into full production on MACHETE,for any word on if he'll be directing MACTETE at the same time he'll be producing PREDATORS(during its filming)?

Waiting for some casting news

i hope its got nothing no unknown actors. just to make it not so hollywoodzy. and i can't wait to see how the predators are going to look. i think making them like apaches with axes and stuff would be awesome. but they should take a note from predator 2 (the end scene) to get the look of different predators down!!!

*nothing but unknown actors

no more "wb" teen teenie bopper ppl.not even in it to kill. we need a cast similar to the actors in aliens. or the original predator.keep it serious in tone.

I hope this movie turns out well, people like the idea of exploring the backstory of these things, but sometimes that’s not the case...

TERMINATOR SALVATION took place in the future, we see the war against the machines... we always wanted this in Terminator 4.

I like the sound of a movie on the PREDATOR'S HomeWorld... But like TERMINATOR SALVATION Many Critics and Fans will BASH IT for Stupid Personal Reasons.. Like the fact that it isn’t a perfect movie that it’s not as good as the Original

1st off, I sat through the beginning of T4 thinking to my self that there is something missing and that was the same thing that was missing from T3, and that was the the smarta$$ John Connor from T2, and that was something that I was looking for. Of course we then get that with the introduction of John Connors father to be. Which for me made the film alot better. It's kind of like Star Wars, how it comes full circle.
Now to Predator, I for one thought Requim was awsome. any movie that kills off a child in it has balls, It just isn't done much. What I would like to see though is a return to the action of the original and at the same time learn more about these beings. I'm looking forward to being able to see more of their world and more about them. I find mself just wanting more after AVP2. I think that it gave more of a rebirth than the 1st one.

JJ, you're just sick. Requim was THE worse movie ever hands down. I got sick just off of how horrible it was. Those two idiots that directed it should be committed to a life time of shock-thearpy because it was so obvious they have mommie issues.

Keep anything that had to do with Requim crap away from this movie, period. Requim problem destroyed both these franchises because people are going to want to wait until this comes out on video rather than wasting cash to see it in theaters because of Requim horridness.

Amen, dCas.

I read a Predator novel called Midnight Sun which had a pretty good story and characters that would transfer well to the bigscreen. Preds capture humans in the past and maroon them on planet where the sun is up almost all the time. They give them these kinda fungal dermal patches to ward off illness they let them live and create a nomadlike society which then they perform hunting rituals ever so often.Kinda cool how the humans make stories and legends of their forefathers which were brought to planet in first place. They also explain how Pred are asexual and change sex the procreate.
